Storytelling Workshop At IISC Bangalore
This workshop was part of the ICoRD 23 held at IISC, Bangalore. The workshop was a look into using storytelling as a data gathering tool in Design Research. Discussing the pros and cons of such and approach with fellow researchers, the workshop aimed at finding the right space for storytelling as a tool in Research. I also introduced concepts of Narrative Therapy to better understand some aspects of storytelling that would help while using this process.
Storytelling Workshop At Govandi Arts Festival
This workshop was part of my artist residency in Govandi Arts Festival. The workshop was meant for the women of Govandi who usually spend their time tending to their families. Through the workshop, the women were able to share their personal stories with the group with the help of some games and activites. The aim of the workshop was also to collect and document their everyday stories.
Animation Workshop At Govandi Arts Festival
The workshop aimed at introducing basics of storytelling and animation to kids of Govandi as part of the Govandi Arts Festival. Throughout the workshop, the children were taken through different ways in which they could find and share stories in and around their lives. The children learned to use sketching, paper cutting, and clay to bring their story ideas to life.
Photography Workshop for Chendamangalm Weavers
The workshop was done in collaboration with Creative Dignity, Kerala for the Chendamangalm weaving cluster. The intention was to teach basic smartphone photography principles to the weavers and society administrative staffs, so that they could click better product photos to sell their products. Not having good looking product photos was identified as one of the challenges in sales for these local weaving societies. With the help of the workshop they learned how to display their products against a good backgroud, having a good lighting, having a good composition, and other tips to take better photos.
